many reptiles like lizards, snakes and turtles carry salmonella. even many amphibians like frogs, salamanders and toads also carry salmonella. mostly, salmonella is in the intestinal tract of reptiles but do not cause any harm to reptiles and live as microflora of intestinal tract. salmonella is shed in faeces of reptiles and can spread to humans through water or food as people keep many of these animals as pet.
