urine testing is commonly used to detect bacteria in sexually transmitted disease. most commonly, for diseases like gonorrhea and chlamydia urine test is used. urine test for chlamydia screens infection by vaginal sex. same in case of gonorrhea vaginal infection can be shown by urine test.
in both diseases if infection other than vagina (i.e. oral or anal sex) swab test must be done.
