there are many possible ways when our food get contaminated with the salmonella or any other pathogens:
*through contamination with faecal matter ( major source)
*when providing inappropriate storage condition
*eat the uncooked food. uncooked food is also one of the major cause.
*when our food like vegetables are fertilized with contaminated manure or contaminated water. that’s the most common way to contaminate the vegetables with salmonella and we ate that contaminated food without properly cooked.
*when the food get in-contact with the contaminated product
*contaminated hands
