Answer ( 1 )
Microbiology is the branch of biology that focuses on organisms too small to be seen clearly with the naked eye, mainly bacteria, archaea, viruses, fungi, protozoa and microscopic algae.
It studies their cell structure, metabolism, genetics and the way they reproduce and evolve over time.
Scientists also look at how microbes interact with each other, with plants and animals, and with the environment, both in helpful ways like nutrient cycling or food production and in harmful ways such as causing disease.
Modern microbiology include immunology, microbial ecology, industrial fermentation, medical bacteriology, virology, mycology and many other sub fields, so the science is very broad even though the organisms are tiny.
