Health officials like the CDC are investigating a new E. coli outbreak that’s sickened people in a few states. They haven’t said exactly how many or where yet.
We know it’s E. coli because of tests done on people who got sick.
The tricky part is figuring out what food caused the outbreak. That takes time – like following a trail of breadcrumbs – to see where the E. coli contamination might have come from.
In the meantime, you can always protect yourself from E. coli by washing your hands thoroughly, especially before eating and after using the restroom. Also, cook meats to safe internal temperatures and avoid raw milk or unpasteurized juices.
So, the answer is: there might be an E. coli outbreak, but we’re still waiting on more info from the experts. Stay tuned, and I’ll share any updates I hear!
