    the lifespan of bacteria vary from one bacteria to another. some bacteria have average lifespan of few minutes and some can survive for years as many bacteria can form spores to resist the harsh environmental conditions such as high temperature, acidic or alkaline pH and lack in nutrition. in normal conditions, bacteria divide 10 to 15 minutes hence average life span is about 12 minutes.
