    unlike eukaryotic cell, where histone proteins are considered standard for the chromatin; prokaryotic cells (bacteria) do not have histones. eukaryotes wrap their DNA into smaller spaces around histone proteins but prokaryotes do this through supercoiling as they do not have histones.
