salmonella can be tested. you need sample for testing. following samples are can be taken:
1. stool sample 2. blood sample 3. body fluids (urine, abscess of wound)
fresh sample are preferred
then samples are cultured. stool samples are cultured on selenite cystine broth and incubated at 37 degrees C FOR 24 hours and clinical samples on XLD agar and incubated at 37 degrees C for 24 hours.
biochemical testing will be done. serological confirmation will be done. PCR assay will be done for confirmation.
many rapid detection kits are available for identification.
