Salmonella enteretidis can enter an egg in many different ways.
1. First , if the shell of an egg gets contaminated with fecal material . As if the feces of hens is contaminated with salmonella then it can possibly stick with the egg’s shell when it sits on it’s eggs.
2. Second, Salmonellesis is a disease that is caused when the ovaries of a hen gets infected by salmonella. In this way an egg gets contaminated by salmonella even before it comes out of the hen.
