  1. sources to get salmonella in chickens:

    1. contaminated feed
    2. chicken poop
    3. direct transmission (chicken to chicken)
    4. through contaminated equipment ( like contaminated hatchery is also the source for the contamination of the salmonella)
    5. poor environment
    6. through contaminated trucks, tires etc

    transmission:

    salmonella can infect chickens through oral or navel transmission into the chickens when they eat or drink contaminated feed or water and then it cause blood poisoning, diarrhoea or sudden death in young chicks especially but this is rare.
