Luckily, according to the CDC’s outbreak list updated in March 2024, there aren’t any ongoing investigations into major salmonella outbreaks linked to specific foods. This is good news!
There was a bit of a scare with charcuterie meats (fancy cured deli cold cuts) in January 2024, and another involving cantaloupes in November 2023. Both outbreaks seem to be over according to the CDC, but it highlights how these outbreaks can pop up.
