MIC of oil based agent
hello everyone
currently I am working on my independent study involving testing the efficacy of clove essential oil against S.aureus growth, I want to test MIC of clove oil but I ran into trouble. I mixed clove oil with DMSO so that it could be emulsified in microbroth and show the inhibitory conc. of different ranges of clove oil. the mixture turned out to be cloudy after immediate shake and it would form oil bubbles when left settled.
What should I do?
Is there another MIC technique where the media of MIC is oil based so that it would mix well with clove oil?
