Are biochemicals necessary for identification or can I proceed to next part of project after grams staining?

I am doing project on checking viability of lactobacillus in fruit juices. I am not using a culture but isolating it from yogurt and stuff. Are biochemicals necessary for identification or can I proceed to next part of project after grams staining?

That entirely depends on your research and its scope. If you actually want to name that particular lactobacillus, obviously you need to perform other tests but if you just want to identify it, then it’s fine. But for better results and credibility of your research, Go for other tests as well.
