antibiotics are used to kill or inhibit bacteria. there are certain bacterial infections that can be preventive without antibiotics and can be treated with certain natural products like plants extracts (Nigella sativa, thyme, lemon) or honey. but certain bacterial infections like pneumonia or sepsis need to be cured by specific anti-bacterial as these are life threatening infections.
