    salmonella can infect eggs in several ways most common way are:

    1. through the contaminated eggshell. when eggshell is contaminated wit the faeces. as u already know, the major route of the transfer of the salmonella is the oral-faecal route.
    2. one strain of the salmonella i.e. salmonella enteritidis can present in the ovaries of the layer hen so they enter the eggs.
    3. contaminated farms
    4. through contaminated trucks
    5. contaminated hatchery
