    bacteria can be both autotrophs and heterotrophs.
    bacterial autotrophs have chromatophores (vesicles containing pigment). these vesicles have carotenoids that help in photosynthesis.
    heterotrophic bacteria are parasitic (get nutrition from other organisms and harm them in return), symbiotic (form association i.e mutualism) and saprophytic (feed on dead organic matter).
