sepsis is the extreme response of body because of an infection. following infections can cause sepsis:
urinary tract infections, skin infections, gut or intestinal infections and lung infection
most of e.coli species are harmless but some can cause severe infection. e.coli can also cause sepsis and it is involved in urinary tract infections.
