alcohol can kill gut bacteria especially when taken at high concentration and in large amount. gut bacteria are natural microflora of gut that are beneficial. if these microflora are disturbed then harmful bacteria can attack, also opportunistic bacteria can get a chance to attack. hence pathogen overgrowth occur that lead to dysbiosis (inflammation of gut).
