    If raw chicken is contaminated with salmonella and you do not cook it properly or consume under cooked meat you will get salmonella. even if you keep contaminated raw meat near other consumables that get contact with meat or juice of under cooked meat then those consumables if taken without cooking like salad can also be source of salmonella.
