Bacterial conjugation is the sexual mode of reproduction in bacteria. It is known as direct transfer of genetic material between bacterial cells by direct contact of one cell to other cell. It is horizontal mechanism of genetic matetial transfer. Bacteria use their structures ‘Pilli’ for genetic material transfer.
