Microbiologists are employed in the healthcare field to research diseases such as tuberculosis, leprosy, cholera, and malaria. These diseases can be prevented with proper treatment. Most microbiologists work in laboratories, performing scientific research. They may also work in hospitals, clinics, or testing laboratories. Their main focus is to find new ways of preventing diseases and treating them with medicine. Also, in pharma industry, they are needed to ensure quality.
